Due to a Yellowstone COVID-19 outbreak among staff, Xanterra is closing down its remaining services at Old Faithful Snow Lodge early for the summer 2020 season.
The campground was originally slated to close Oct. 18 but was shut down Oct. 11, while the Snow Lodge and associated services were scheduled to be open for another week, through Oct. 25. However, the COVID-19 outbreak has caused Xanterra to close up the rooms, food services and gift shop at Old Faithful Snow Lodge tomorrow, Oct. 13. Those will room reservations can ask to transfer them to Mammoth Hot Springs; if a request is not made, then the reservation will be canceled and the room deposit automatically refunded.
It’s not the only change we are seeing from Xanterra at the Old Faithful Snow Lodge. When the winter season launches, the Snow Lodge will be open for day use only (food and gift shop). No winter lodging will be available in the Old Faithful area.
