Roads Connecting Norris to Madison, Canyon Close for Season

The roads connecting Norris Geyser Basin to Madison Junction and Canyon Village have closed to oversnow travel for the season.

Currently, the only oversnow routes open in Yellowstone National Park are the roads between the West Entrance and West Thumb, the South Entrance Road, and the segment between West Thumb and Canyon Village.

You can see the full list of remaining closures below. All roads listed will close at 9 p.m. the day of:

March 11: Canyon to Fishing Bridge.

March 15: All remaining oversnow roads.

The road between the North and Northeast Entrances stays open to vehicles all year.

The roads in Yellowstone National Park are closing in preparation for spring plowing. They will start reopening Friday, April 20, 2018 through the end of May. You can see the full list of road opening dates here.

Earlier this week, both the Old Faithful Snow Lodge and Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel closed for the season. You can see the full list of opening and closing dates here.
