With both Yellowstone and Grand Teton visitation records in the books for July 2021, you can expect more calls for limitations on access to popular areas within the two national parks.

It was a big Yellowstone Fourth of July weekend this year, as almost 50,000 vehicle entries were recorded over the holiday, representing an 8 percent rise over 2019.

Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park visitation was up in April 2021 when compared to April 2019, as the interest in park visitation began early this year.

Yellowstone visitation in June 2020 was down some 32 percent from June 2019 visitation numbers, as the COVID-19 pandemic is clearly keeping many folks at home during the high summer season.

You can probably blame snowstorms and early seasonal road closures, as October 2019 Yellowstone visits were down when compared to 2018, according to National Park Service officials.

The numbers are in: August 2019 Yellowstone visitation is up slightly from 2018’s tallies, with total 2019 visitation numbers down slightly from 2018.

June 2019 Yellowstone visitation was down 3.6 percent when compared to June 2018, as National Park Service officials tallied 781,853 visits. This also represents a decrease from June 2016 (838,316 visits), the busiest month on record in Yellowstone.
