June 2019 Yellowstone visitation was down 3.6 percent when compared to June 2018, as National Park Service officials tallied 781,853 visits. This also represents a decrease from June 2016 (838,316 visits), the busiest month on record in Yellowstone.
Bad weather in the form of unseasonable rain and snow undoubtedly impact the Yellowstone visitation numbers, as did the snow-related closures of the Beartooth Highway throughout the month.
