Free Admission to Yellowstone Begins Tomorrow

A big bonus if you’re heading out to Yellowstone National Park during opening weekend: As part of National Park Week, there is free admission to Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park beginning on Saturday, April 21.

The theme of the 2018 National Park Week (April 21-29) is “Park Stars,” and the National Park Foundation will highlight sites and stories of the National Park System. April 21 coincides with the planned opening of the Canyon Visitor Education Center and the Old Faithful Visitor Education Center. April 21 is also National Junior Ranger Day, with limited edition National Junior Ranger Day buttons. To participate in the Junior Ranger program throughout the park season, families can purchase a booklet for $3 at any Visitor Center and then complete age-appropriate activities.

This is the second of four days in 2018 that admission to all National Parks will be free. Free admission will also be offered on September 22 for National Public Lands Day and on November 11 for Veterans Day.  The fourth day was in January, when admission was free for Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday.
