Yellowstone National Park South Entrance, Yellowstone visitation

Some Yellowstone Trails, Basins Closed by Heavy Snow

Due to heavy snow, certain trails and boardwalks in Yellowstone National Park are temporarily closed.

According to a park press release, the Norris Geyser Basin and the overlook areas along North Rim Drive in Canyon are closed to visitors.

These trails will stay closed until conditions improve. We will update this story as soon as these places reopen.

Even though it’s the start of spring season in Yellowstone, the effects of winter are still lingering. Please be cautious when driving and hiking around the park.
