Dunraven Pass

Dunraven Pass Closes to Wheeled Vehicles for Season

The Dunraven Pass in Yellowstone National Park is officially closed to wheeled vehicles for the season.

Due to its higher elevation, Duraven typically closes at least a month before the rest of the park. Indeed, it has a history of being closed early by sudden snow storms and other inclement weather.

This week also saw the closure of three major Yellowstone hotels: Old Faithful Inn, Canyon Lodge & Cabins and the Yellowstone Lake Hotel. All three will reopen in the spring.

Several facilities are slated to close Sunday, October 15:

Canyon

• Wrecker Service.

Fishing Bridge

• Fishing Bridge General Store.

Madison

• Madison Campground.

With the exception of the North and Northeast Entrance Road that connects Mammoth to Cooke City, all interior park roads will close November 6.

Also bear in mind that, from now until November 6, there will be delays along the road between Norris and Mammoth due to construction.

You can see the full list of opening and closing dates here.
