The Old Faithful bridge work that closed down the southbound overpass and caused officials to reroute traffic is now expected to run through late October.

With the Old Faithful Overpass Bridge closed because of safety concerns, getting to and from the Old Faithful area will be a challenge for the time being.

A limited number of Old Faithful Inn rooms will open to the public starting July 24, as Superior, Premium and Suites facilities will be available for overnight stays.

It remains to be seen what opens in Yellowstone National Park this summer. But if the park were to open today, here’s a look at what your 2020 Yellowstone vacation might look like.

Xanterra has altered its summer 2020 Yellowstone plans, still offering limited lodging options but holding out the possibility that Old Faithful Inn may open this year.

More Yellowstone 2019 openings to note. Old Faithful Inn and associated services in the area will open for the season on Friday, as will more sections of roads: the highway from East Entrance to Lake Village (Sylvan Pass), and the roads between Canyon Village and Lake Village–weather permitting, of course.

Variable pricing, also known at demand-based pricing, is coming to Yellowstone hotels, as the National Park Service is allowing Xanterra to alter its pricing structure at Old Faithful Inn, Lake Yellowstone Hotel and Canyon Village.

It’s not really a new year in Yellowstone until the Old Faithful Inn opens, and it opened a few weekends back on Friday, May 4.
