A few roads will be opening to cars in Yellowstone National Park Friday, April 21, 2017.
According to a Yellowstone press release, visitors will be able to drive all the way between Mammoth Hot Springs to Old Faithful. In addition, the road between Norris and Canyon Village is slated to open.
Be advised: there may be delays due to road construction between Mammoth Hot Springs and Norris Geyser Basin. Expect delays of up to 30 minutes.
The road between the North and Northeast Entrances is open year-round.
In addition to those roads, the following facilities are set to open April 21:
Canyon Village
• Yellowstone Adventure Store.
• Service Station.
• Canyon Visitor Education Center.
Old Faithful
• Old Faithful Visitor Center.
• Old Faithful Snow Lodge.
• Geyser Grill.
• Bear Den Gift Shop.
• Service Station (lower).
With the opening of these interior roads comes the (unofficial) end of spring bicycling season in Yellowstone National Park. While cyclists will still be permitted on the Grand Loop Road, they’ll have to share. So if you’re looking to have a car-free bike ride in Yellowstone, this week’s your last chance!
