Some belated attendance news to consider: August visitation to Yellowstone National Park in 2011 topped the 800,000 mark for only the second time in the park’s history -- but was still below August 2010's figures.
A bad economy, higher-than-normal fuel prices and a delayed spring pushed down visitation numbers in June for Yellowstone National Park, but it still ended up as the third-highest June visitation on record.
Fewer folks visited Yellowstone National Park in January 2011 than in January 2010, as bad weather and a poor economy presumably cut down on the number of visitors heading to the Park for day visits and guided snowmobile tours.
Bad weather led to a drop in Yellowstone National Park attendance from May 2009 when compared to May 2010, but don't be concerned: the 2010 numbers are up overall, and the May 2010 final tally is still the fourth-best in Park history.
