A Grand Teton and Yellowstone mask mandate returns, as rising COVID-19 rates causes the National Park Service to require masks in crowded outdoor spaces and all indoor spaces.
The NPS mask mandate applies to park visitor centers, administrative offices, lodges, gift shops, and restaurants. It also applies to outdoor areas attracting a crowd.
The Delta variant of the COVID-19 coronavirus has proven to be more virulent and transmissible than the original virus, leading to newly reported cases in the United States rising 16.4 percent in the last week. We’re also seeing rates rise in counties surrounding Yellowstone.
The Grand Teton and Yellowstone mask mandate applies both to vaccinated and unvaccinated visitors.
