Old Faithful Inn

East Entrance, Old Faithful Inn to Reopen May 5

Weather pending, the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park will open tomorrow, May 5.

The Entrance, which services visitors and residents coming via Cody, Wyoming, is one of the most scenic in the entire park.

Be warned, however: although the East Entrance will be open, the Sylvan Pass will be closed Friday, May 5, and Saturday, May 6 between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. due to avalanche danger. According to a Yellowstone press release, unusually warm and sunny weather is predicted for the day, augmenting the chance for avalanche.

Yellowstone officials will monitor the situation closely and advise as necessary.

In addition to the East Entrance, the following Yellowstone facilities will be reopening:

Fishing Bridge

• Fishing Bridge RV Park.
• Fishing Bridge General Store.
• Fishing Bridge Service Station.

Old Faithful

Old Faithful Inn.
• Old Faithful Lower General Store.

Visitors will also be able to drive between Canyon and Fishing Bridge. Lake Village is not slated to reopen until May 12 at the earliest.
