Yellowstone National Park South Entrance, Yellowstone visitation

South Entrance Reopens To Visitor Travel

The South Entrance of Yellowstone National Park is open once again thanks to crews in Grand Teton National Park.

According to Inciweb, firefighters have reopened U.S. 89/191/287 after the Berry Fire closed it August 22, 2016.

Currently, the Berry Fire measures 13,177 acres. Leeks Marina, Flagg Ranch, Lizard Creek Campground and Headwaters Campground are still closed at this time.

Crews urge caution when traveling along the newly reopened stretch of highway, as firefighters will still be active in the area. The highway pullouts will be closed. However, the parking area near Grand Teton’s north entrance sign will be open to the public.
