Little New Information in Yellowstone Campsite Shooting

We now have the identity of a weekend gunshot victim in Yellowstone National Park — three-year-old Ella Marie Tucker from Pocatello, Idaho — but few other details about the incident.

According to information issued by the National Park Service this afternoon, Park rangers and an ambulance responded to the Grant Village Campground in response to a 911 call for help from a woman who told the emergency dispatcher her daughter had just shot herself with a handgun. Efforts by emergency responders to resuscitate the girl were unsuccessful.

National Park Service rangers and special agents continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the Saturday morning incident.
