Delaware North has announced the purchase of West Yellowstone-based travel company Yellowstone Vacations.
According to a press release, Delaware North (which operates 12 general stores in Yellowstone National Park, under contract with the National Park Service) completed the purchase this week. Yellowstone Vacations operates the Buffalo Bus Touring Company, Rendezvous Snowmobile Rentals, and Big Sky Car Rentals.
In addition, Delaware North will use the Vacations brand to promote its West Yellowstone lodging offerings: the Holiday Inn, Gray Wolf Inn & Suites, Yellowstone Park Hotel, and the Explorer Cabins at Yellowstone. From the press release:
“Now, more than ever, travelers want the convenience of planning their entire vacation in one place. With the acquisition of Yellowstone Vacations, Delaware North can now offer that all-inclusive experience and curate unique vacation itineraries for visitors to this incredible national park,” said Jim Houser, Delaware North group president.
For more than three generations, Yellowstone Vacations has been widely recognized as the leading all-inclusive provider of special tours and activities for travelers planning a Yellowstone vacation. Wintertime experiences include interpretive snowcoach tours and thrilling snowmobile tours and rentals. In the summer months, Yellowstone Vacations offers memorable tours of Yellowstone National Park’s Upper and Lower Loop to see landmarks such as Old Faithful geyser and Firehole Canyon up close. The tours are conducted by certified interpretive guides.
Besides Yellowstone, Delaware North also operates in Grand Canyon National Park, Niagara Falls State Park, and the Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex, among others.
