It seems the Sylvan and Craig Passes are closed again to vehicle traffic due to snow.
Both passes were among the roads temporarily closed by snow earlier this week.
As of 11:25 a.m. MST, Yellowstone drivers cannot access the East Entrance and cannot drive to West Thumb Geyser Basin from Old Faithful
The other roads affected by snow earlier this week (the South Entrance Road and the road between Canyon Village and Norris Junction) remain open, although Park Service warns of wintery conditions.
Currently, all Yellowstone roads, except for the route between the North and Northeast Entrances, will close to vehicle traffic November 7.
It is not known when the passes will reopen. We will update our story accordingly.
UPDATE: The Craig Pass has been reopened. The Sylvan Pass remains closed as of 1 p.m. MST.
SECOND UPDATE: The Sylvan Pass has reopened as well. As of 2:30 p.m. MST, all roads in Yellowstone (save for over the Dunraven Pass) are open to vehicle traffic.
