Norris–Canyon, Other Yellowstone Roads Reopen

The Norris–Canyon road has reopened in Yellowstone National Park after being closed by inclement weather.Monday, October 17, we reported the Norris–Canyon road was closed due to a snowstorm. Throughout the day, the following routes were closed as well:

  • The East Entrance Road.
  • The South Entrance Road.
  • Craig Pass between Old Faithful and West Thumb Junction.

The roads were still listed as closed as of 12:10 p.m. MST today, October 18.

Currently, all Yellowstone routes except for the Dunraven Pass are open to vehicle traffic. They are scheduled to close November 7. Oversnow travel will begin mid-December in Yellowstone National Park.
