Serious Auto Accident Outside Midway Geyser Basin

A serious auto accident has occurred outside Midway Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park.

According to a Yellowstone press release, the accident involves two vehicles. Two patients have been airlifted out of the Park for medical treatment. As of writing, there is no information on the condition of the patients.

A one-hour road closure is in place between Midway Geyser Basin and Fountain Freight Road.

An investigation by Park officials is ongoing; we will be following this story as it updates.

UPDATE: The road-closure is now over. The incident is still under investigation, however.
