Another Yellowstone National Park concessions worker was found dead yesterday, as the body of missing 21-year-old Kassandra “Kassie” Wieferich was found in the Old Faithful Lodge area.
She was reported missing by family after reportedly missed several shifts at work and failing to meet a family member the previous afternoon as planned.
After a brief search in the Old Faithful Lodge area, the body of the Twin Bridges, Montana resident was located not far from the point she was reportedly last seen by a fellow employee.
Details surrounding her discovery were withheld from the public until Wednesday afternoon to allow for notification of family members.
The incident remains under investigation by National Park Service park rangers and special agents.
This is the second death of a concessions worker this summer in Yellowstone National Park. The body of 22-year-old Darien Latty was discovered on August 17 after a tubing accident on the Yellowstone River near Tower Junction.
