Bechler Administrative Area Plan Approved

Yellowstone National Park’s Bechler Administrative Area will be getting some improvements, under a recently approved plan.

The plan will go toward improved parking, vehicle circulation, utilities and employee housing in the Area, in accordance with both the National Environmental Policy Act and the National Historic Preservation Act.

Sue Masica, Director of the Intermountain Region of the National Park Service, signed A Finding of No Significant Impact last week, which set the improvement plan into motion. This Finding was written up alongside an Environmental Assessment, which proposed three alternatives and went up for public comment May 5, 2013.

Visitors interested in reading both the FONSI and the EA can find it here.
