New Fire in Northeast Yellowstone: Druid Fire

With the fire danger in Yellowstone National Park being high these days, we expect to see a lot of stories this: NPS officials report a new incident, the Druid Fire, approximately two miles north of the Northeast Entrance Road on the northern aspect of Druid Peak overlooking the Lamar Valley.

The Druid Fire is estimated to be two acres and burning in heavy spruce timber.  It will be monitored by park fire crews.

Smoke may be visible at times from the road.  However, no roads, campgrounds or trails are closed because of this fire, and it poses no threat to visitors.
