Antelope Fire

Antelope Fire Stalls to Southeast; Containment Expected Soon

The fire is now at 3,048 acres, with 30 percent containment. There’s very little burning in the majority of the burn site; the burning is concentrated in the southeast corner. Crews are out today to monitor the perimeter of the fire; firefighters will instead focus on noninvasive actions like wetting down areas already burned out. The goal is total containment the next few days.

As mentioned, the Grand Loop Road will remain closed, primarily to allow the road to be used solely by firefighters and because of smoke inversion in the morning and evening.
