Arthur 2 Fire Diminishes; Crews Diverted from Management

The size of the Arthur 2 Fire is now estimated to be 200 acres, down from the original 218-acre estimate. The fire is south of Middle Creek and is visible from East Entrance Road (Hwy. 20), but no closures are in effect due to the fire.

More accurate information led the fire-management team to downgrade the potential severity of the fire. That, of course, could change in coming days, but the weather forecast — cooler, with rain on and off — is not looking good for a spread of a forest fire.
