Yellowstone officials have downgraded the Park’s fire danger to “moderate” as the 2016 fire season continues to wrap up.

Fawn Fire has now grown to an estimated 915 acres as of 11:30 a.m. Sunday, August 7.

With all the wet weather and the late spring in Yellowstone National Park, conditions have been unfavorable for any forest fires. That's changing, as lightning has sparked a small fire on the Central Plateau south of Gibbon Falls.
