At a time when the East Coast is socked in with unseasonably high levels of snow, the western side of Yellowstone National Park is lacking the white stuff — leading to some changes in Yellowstone winter policies.

Heavy spring snows have caused National Park Service officials to close down most of the roads within Yellowstone National Park, as a foot of new snow fell in a two-hour stretch, toppling power lines and causing all sorts of havoc.
