After several months on the job, Superintendent Cam Sholly has issued a list of major Yellowstone strategic priorities designed to guide Park planning both in the short term and in the long term.

Reflecting on how visitors consume information these days, Superintendent Cam Sholly says Yellowstone connectivity upgrades are inevitable — and he also wants to keep them as unobtrusive as possible.

Cam Sholly, still in his first year as superintendent, doesn’t foresee any dramatic changes in Yellowstone National Park operations, dismissing talk of limiting access to the Park in the busiest summer visitation days.

When current Yellowstone National Park Superintendent Dan Wenk launched an effort to remain in the post–first via public comments, then from a failed effort to retire in 2019–one of his warnings was that the Park’s bison management policies could come under fire.

Well, that didn’t take long: A few days after Dan Wenk said he was being forced out of the position, Cam Sholly was named new superintendent of Yellowstone National Park by Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke.
