Norris Campground Closed Due to Water System Breakdown

Due to a failure in the water supply system, Norris Campground in Yellowstone National Park is currently closed to new campers.

According to a Yellowstone press release, the system broke Wednesday morning, July 5. There is no running water available in the campground and in most employee residences. Further, all restrooms and portable water sources in the campground are closed indefinitely.

Limited portable toilets and drinking water is available to campers currently on-site who have already paid for multiple nights.

Maintenance staff is currently working on a fix for the water supply system. Norris Campground will reopen once running water is back.

We will update this story when more information is available.

UPDATE: Norris Campground will reopen 7 a.m. MST Friday July 7, 2017
