Yellowstone Announces New Closure Dates For Canyon Rim Projects

Yellowstone is changing up their closure dates for parts of the Canyon area—as part of the Canyon Overlook Rehabilitation project.

According to a Yellowstone press release, GeoTech has switched up their investigation and drilling schedule for the Brink of the Lower Falls Trail, Red Rock Trail, and North Rim Trail. GeoTech will be investigating the sites to find “stable and suitable rocks” for future overlook structures along the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone’s rim. The full list of closures is below:

• Brink of the Lower Falls Trail: closed between October 4 and October 12, 2016.
• Red Rock Trail: Closed between October 12 and October 22, 2016.
• North Rim Trail: Closed between October 21 and October 22, 2016.

The inspections are part of the Park’s four-year construction plan that went into effect earlier this summer.
