A surprise announcement: the Dunraven Pass in Yellowstone National Park will stay open for an extra week.
Park officials anticipate the road, which connects Tower Fall to Canyon Junction, will now stay open until 8 a.m. Monday, October 19. The reason? Favorable weather conditions, as well as on-going road construction on the western side of the Park. Keeping the road open will prevent traffic from getting too congested, especially as the Park moves toward November.
Of course, the Dunraven Pass may still close due to inclement weather. We will keep you abreast of any changes to the Dunraven Pass before October 19. And for up-to-date road conditions in Yellowstone, be sure and check out our road conditions page.
