July saw the highest Yellowstone visitation count on record in all of Yellowstone National Park’s history.
980,702 visitors came to the Park—a 14 percent increase over last July. These Yellowstone visitation numbers also surpass the previous July record, attained in 2010. This July’s number show a two percent increase over the July 2010 numbers.
In the first seven months of 2015, 2,279,557 visitors came through Yellowstone National Park, an over 17 percent increase over last year and 13 percent over 2010’s number. The full 2015 Yellowstone visitation numbers are below:

Every entrance to Yellowstone National Park, in particular the North and West Entrances, showed an increase in traffic.
Historically, July tends to be Yellowstone’s peak visitation month, followed by August, June, September, and May.
The Park calculates these numbers by counting the numbers of wheeled vehicles rolling through entrances, then applying a person-per-vehicle multiplier to calculate Yellowstone visitation.
