Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone’s Lewis Lake Campground Now Open

Approximately 80 of the campground’s sites on loops A, B and C are open to visitors.  Most the additional five sites located on the walk-in loop are still underwater and will remain closed until approximately the first week of August. In addition, there’s no water service at the camground: Campers are advised to bring their own drinking water or method for treating water. Faucets will be properly signed until water becomes
available, which is expected to be sometime next week.

Also opening next week: The Lewis Lake Ranger Station, which remains closed but is expected to open next week.  Until then, permits can still be obtained at ranger stations at the South Entrance, Grant Village or Bridge Bay.

The Lewis Lake facility has a limited number of RV sites which can accommodate vehicles up to 25 feet long. There are no generators permitted or other electrical facilities available. Vault toilets are also available.
