Going to Yellowstone over the 4th? Looks Like Smooth Sailing on the Roads

All road construction is being halted in Yellowstone National Park over the weeekend to accommodate visitors. This means there will be no delays, except for possible congestion. The major road construction this season in Gibbon Canyon between Norris and Madison will be completely open from Friday, July 2 at 8 a.m. to Monday, July 5 at 10 p.m. (That’s not to say you’ll whip through the construction site; be prepared for some slow going.)

All the campgrounds and facilities in Yellowstone National Park will be open for Independence Day, although there will be no fireworks display. Fireworks are banned in Yellowstone due to a potential fire hazard.

The National Weather Service calls for typical mountain weather with highs in the 60s and a potential for rain all through the weekend.
