Avalanches Impacting Access to Yellowstone’s East Entrance

Heavy spring snow fell onto the road in the Sylvan Pass Sunday afternoon, completely covering one lane with six feet of snow, and Park officials made the decision to close the road until Monday morning.

 

That spring snow is still around and could close more closures in the East Entrance this week. Warm temperatures trigger avalanches; check the weather conditions.
