Yellowstone Bison

Two Yellowstone Bison Killed After Testing Goes Bad

The two bulls had wandered outside of Yellowstone National Park; instead of being hazed back into the Park they were sedated for testing by the Montana Department of Livestock, whose officials were researching the issue of whether bison semen can transmit disease (presumably brucellosis).

When the two bull awoke they fled Montana officials and headed into Yankee Jim Canyon, refusing to leave. After several attempts to guide the bison out of the canyon, the call was made by Montana and National Park Service officials to kill the pair.

Pretty senseless.
