Obama Visit to Yellowstone: Private Event

The President and his family are flying into Bozeman today to hold a health-care town hall in a hangar at Gallatin Field airport. (Interestingly, the event is first-come, first-served, with tickets given away at the Belgrade and Bozeman town halls. So expect a lively discussion.) The First Family will reportedly spend the night in Big Sky before leaving for Yellowstone National Park on Saturday morning.

The White House isn’t saying where the President and family will visit while in the Park, although it’s a pretty good bet he’ll be spending some time around Old Faithful. He’s entering and leaving the Park via West Yellowstone — in fact, Air Force One will be leaving from the West Yellowstone airport around 2:35 p.m. — which provides easy access to the Old Faithful area. The President will also reportedly be taking in some fly fishing in the Park as well.

We’re not surprised the White House is being so coy on the President’s itinerary; there will be plenty of chances for photo ops with the crowds expected this weekend, so there’s no reason to draw thousands of more onlookers on a weekend the Park should be busy.
