Alert Out for Missing Person Near North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park

Park staff is looking for a missing person near the North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park.

According to a Yellowstone press release, staff are looking for Jeff Murphy, 53, of Batavia, Illinois. His last known location was near the Rescue Creek Trailhead at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 7. According to officials, Murphy intended to hike to Turkey Pen Peak.

Mr. Murphy measures 5’ 11” tall and weighs approximately 190 pounds. A picture of Mr. Murphy is below, courtesy of the park:

Officials add that Mr. Murphy may be wearing any of the following items: khaki pants, yellow t-shirt, navy pullover, green/gray rain jacket, and an army green backpack.
