There's always a big challenge every summer in Yellowstone National Park: planning around the realities of road construction. Here's a glimpse at what to expect this summer.

With snowcoach travel ending in Yellowstone National Park the beginning of this week, National Park Service workers are making the transition to spring, with park road crews began making their first pass with plows to clear a lane south from Mammoth. 

A group is petitioning the National Park Service to plow the highway between West Yellowstone and Old Faithful year-round, much the same as the road between Gardiner and Cooke City is plowed all winter long.

Though the temperatures have been a little colder than normal for this time of year, apparently the Yellowstone bears are listening to their internal clocks, with the first sightings starting in late February.
