Starting Sunday, July 9, the Beartooth Highway will have nightly closures Sunday through Friday for roadway improvements.
The road will remain entirely open Saturdays.
According to a Yellowstone press release, the closures will run from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Said closures will include the north gate 12 miles south of Red Lodge, Montana to the Wyoming state line.
According to Riverside Contracting Inc., the company doing improvements, the work will consist of “rotomilling and paving operations.” The company warns of “a large increase in truck traffic on the West Fork of Rock Creek Road, Red Lodge Creek Road, and Highway 212.”
The closures are expected to last four weeks.
