Canyon Campground, Other Facilities Close For 2016 Summer Season

More facilities in Yellowstone National Park have closed for the 2016 summer season.

The first wave of closures swept the Park last week, with most coming around Tower/Roosevelt.

As of 1:45 p.m. MST Monday, September 12, 2016, the following facilities have closed in Yellowstone:

Bridge Bay
• Dock Rental.
• Boat Tours.
• Scenic Cruiser.

Canyon Village
• Canyon Campground.

Old Faithful
• Service Station (Upper).

Tower/Roosevelt
• Roosevelt Cook-Out.

NPS Campgrounds
• Indian Creek Campground.

With this set of closures, both Bridge Bay and Tower/Roosevelt have closed entirely. Note, however, that the Tower Junction service station open year-round for visitors with credit cards.

In addition, Slough Creek Campground is still closed due to activity from the Buffalo Fire. It is not expected to reopen in time to close on schedule since fire activity has picked up again the past few days.

Yesterday, a stretch of road closed between Mammoth Hot Springs and Norris Geyser Basin for a construction project.
