Yellowstone National Park South Entrance, Yellowstone visitation

NPS To Discuss Yellowstone Fires At Community Meeting Monday August 22

The National Park Service will be holding a community meeting in West Yellowstone to discuss the wildfires burning in Yellowstone right now.

Currently, there are six fires burning in Yellowstone National Park: the Boundary Fire and then the Buffalo Complex (Fawn, Maple, Buffalo, Thumb, and Grayling 2). Officials will be putting special focus on the Maple Fire, the largest and, as of writing, the closest to Park infrastructure.

The event will take place Monday, August 22, from 6-7 p.m. at the following venue:

Union Pacific Dining Hall
220 Yellowstone Avenue
West Yellowstone, MT 59758

The event is free to attend.

Stage 1 fire restrictions are still in place for Yellowstone National Park. Visitors coming along the West Entrance Road should drive with caution by slowing down and using headlights when necessary.

All Park roads and visitor facilities, both NPS- and concessionaire-operated, are open at this time.
