Beartooth Highway Closed Due To Snow and Icy Conditions

The Beartooth Highway just outside Yellowstone National Park has been temporarily closed due to inclement weather.

According to the Montana Department of Transportation, the Beartooth from Vista Point onward is closed due to snow and icy conditions. The Wyoming portion of the Beartooth is completely closed until further notice.

Drivers can still travel between Red Lodge, Montana and Vista Point, but will be turned around once they reach Vista.

It is not known how long this closure will remain in effect; we will keep you abreast of the latest developments.

UPDATE: the Beartooth Highway is now open to vehicular traffic.
