Yellowstone’s South Entrance, Craig Pass Closed Because of Snow

There was enough snow at Vista Point to force the closure of the Beartooth Highway. Craig Pass connects Old Faithful and West Thumb.

We’ve had reports of other unsafe driving areas within the Park as well, though for now the impact is to the south; things are clear at Mammoth Hot Springs. No word on when these roads and entrances will reopen, though it might not be any time soon: if the snow persists, the Beartooth Pass could be closed for the season. A Winter Story Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service.
