Beware Flooding Risks in Greater Yellowstone Area

So far most of the concern lies directly outside of the Park: the Yellowstone River at Livingston reached flood stage this weekend and is still running high. Similarly, there’s a flood watch issued for Carbon, Park, Stillwater and Sweet Grass counties, covering communities like Red Lodge and Livingston. We’ve not received any reports of any flooding impacting visitors within the boundaries of Yellowstone National Park; let us know if there are.

The lesson: be careful out there. Don’t plow through running water if you’re not sure about the depth, and if you’re out fishing, beware some swifter-than-normal currents.
